On the road again...to Albuquerque!

Hi everyone,

We had a raucous final evening in Tucson, despite explicit rules against disorderly conduct in the rental agreement for our apartment. Blaine taught a synchronized swimming lesson, Wendy made guacamole from scratch, and we somehow managed to break the kitchen sink. Pics below of Blaine cooking, Rebecca sorting all the ladies' underpants and Jen and Re giving a geography lesson.

We woke up yesterday to make the drive to Albuquerque, through some of the most beautiful country we've seen. Some pictures are included, of a rio grande vista and of Hatch, NM, the chile capital of the world. After a looooong day in the car, we arrived at our destination...Albuquerque's KOA Kampground. Welcome to Kabin number 11--two bunk beds in one tiny room (so, four dancers) and a double bed in the other (two dancers, plus all our luggage). Pauline and Sean, and soon Dave, will be two Kabins down in number 3, which is supposedly even smaller. A great pic of Rebecca squeezed into her bunk below.

We were delighted to discover that rather than sit around and stare at each other in a 7' by 8' Kabin, we could go to a Mexican restaurant a mere 5 miles away from our Kampground. If we left right away we could get there before they stopped serving at 9:30pm. Our waiter was a hoot and made fun of us for rolling in right at closing time. We ordered plenty of food and drinks to make up for it, though--although Rebecca just got a water. Our waiter latched on to the fact that we're from California and said that was how we must keep our girlish figures: "There are no skinny women in Albuquerque...all the women here are fat tubs." He mentioned he needed to go to California to find a woman. We certainly haven't noticed a lot of female fat tubs in Alb so far, but we hope our waiter comes to our show! Fuzzy picture from dinner below.

The dancers took modern 2 and ballet 3 back-to-back at UNM today, and so we definitely feel warmed up for our first big rehearsal in the Arts Lab tonight. Pauline's teaching a bunch of classes in the dance department while we're here, so we're looking forward to taking her classes tomorrow.

Finally, a picture of Wendy and Norm, the percussion professor at University of Arizona! Hi Norm! We loved listening to your CD in the car.

More soon...
