it's snowing!

well, we're still on the road, for any of those who are still reading this blog :)

No great revelations.. yet. still decompressing. Though, I will say that it occurred to me yesterday as I was driving thorough Nebraska that I'm incredibly fortunate to be crossing the continent for the the third time, second time in essentially a month... each time seeing new things, finding new sights to capture my attention, juice up my imagination and leave me with awesome memories.

I think it's also quite a feat that the group pulled it off (thank you group!). What is "it" exactly? Here's what it boiled down to:
- 17 performances in San Diego (BASIC), LA (Electric Lodge), Phoenix (Trunk Space + ASU), Tucson (UA), Albuquerque (ARTS Lab UNM), Santa Fe (Center for Contemporary Art), Boulder (UC at Boulder), Columbus (BoMA), Chicago (Orphanage), Phoenixville (High), Brooklyn (BARN + MonkeyTown) - all with dance, music and video
- 4 master classes in dance + choreography at UNM
- lectures at ASU, UA, and College of Santa Fe
- numerous state and national park visits
- countless thought-provoking conversations about art, politics and life in general with interesting folks across the country
- only one cold and one injury and one car-garage-repair visit :)

We made a pit-stop in Lincoln NE yesterday - a place called the Bison Witches - yum! We stopped in Lincoln weeks ago with the whole crew... this time just the two of us before heading off in a different direction from whence we came originally... last night a huge storm moved in... it was like 34 degrees -- not quite snowing, not quite raining - in Ogallala NE. This morning we were warned of severe fog and snow along our route through Wyoming... so far it's been moderate... there was this wonderful pass through gorgeous pine trees covered in snow... then all of a sudden it opened up into sunny blue skies with one of the most gorgeous views I've ever seen. Just gorgeous mountains and hills and prairies.... the land here is so dramatic. Sadly, no photos cause i was driving and eagle was sleeping.. but picture desert + prairie + mesas + crazy jagged mountains + hill ranges that looked like spines + snow covered pines all hanging out together outside your window and then add in some blue skies with huge patches of dark clouds hanging low and intercepting the peaks. just so awesome. i wanted to ditch the car for a horse and just ride off into the sunset ... i keep hoping to see a cowboy doing just that, but sadly...... it's really snowing.

I also saw a weed tumble in front of my car!!! my first tumble weed!! then saw another, which a i have a photo of below... that was a big one.

such beautiful land, well minus the random oil refineries. here are photos of western wyoming + utah.
